Who are you assigned to work with for your EARN Indiana internship and what kind of projects or responsibilities are a part of your role?
I'm assigned to the 21st Century Scholars Program. I will translate newsletters for Spanish-speaking parents/students, create TikToks, and help assess programming to increase student engagement.
What are you most looking forward to in your internship?
I'm looking forward to making TikToks about my favorite spots to go hiking or my favorite study spots. I am also looking forward to gaining experience for future jobs.
What other things have you been involved with here at IU?
I have been involved with many things here at IU. I am the Co-President of the Geo Club, a member of the Sigma Gamma Epsilon, a member of the Weather Club/American Meteorological Society and was a part of Women in STEM Living-Learning Center. I currently work at the IU Paleo Collection and worked in the William R. Adams Zooarchaeology Lab. I am currently doing undergraduate research with the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences.
What have you enjoyed most about your IU experience?
I have enjoyed being able to go on field trips with my Earth Science classes. I have gone to Red River Gorge in Kentucky twice and plan to go to Tennessee and Utah this semester. I also enjoyed how helpful and nice the Earth and Atmospheric Science Department is.
Any post grad plans?
I plan to attend graduate school to get my master's and PhD in volcanology. I hope to attend school in Mexico, Iceland, Washington, or Oregon. After that I hope to become a professor while working for the government.
What's your favorite Bloomington restaurant and your go-to order?
My favorite restaurant is Taste of India and I like to get lamb tikka masala with chili garlic butter.
