Leadership Corps
IU 21st Century Scholars Leadership Corps
Leadership Corps is a student-led organization designed to cultivate IU 21st Century Scholars into globally-minded leaders and professionals during their time at Indiana University Bloomington. Leadership Corps is composed of three different branches: the Volunteer Division, Ambassador Division, and Public Relations Division. In order to better customize your experience in Leadership Corps the group has decided that all members must choose a division to join. Each division will have its own GroupMe so that you can stay better involved in what you're interested in.
The Volunteer Division works to connect members to individual and group service opportunities for learning and leadership development in the City of Bloomington and on the Indiana University campus that aligns with their academic and career interests. The Volunteer Division partners annually with organizations such as IU Greening Cream and Crimson, Girls Inc., the Monroe County YMCA, Bloomington Parks and Recreation, and the Jill Behrman 5K Color Run.
The Ambassador Division provides assistance to IU Bloomington's 21st Century Scholars Program in engaging potential high school Scholars with the necessary resources to help them succeed at IU Bloomington before they arrive, as well as creating programming to help scholars develop personally and professionally while they are at IU. Interested and accepted students will receive training to help them become knowledgeable representatives for the 21st Century Scholars office and build their professional skills in networking and public speaking by participating in events. All Leadership Corps members will have the opportunity to attend developmental programs and workshops presented by the Ambassador Division.
The Public Relations Division hosts social events designed to foster community building among fellow Scholars at Indiana University Bloomington. Attending events put on by the Public Relations Division is a great way to meet other IU 21st Century Scholars and network in the Bloomington community for little to no cost! Past events include the annual End of the Year Party / Field day, attending Late Nite at the IMU, Ice Cream Socials, Movie Nights, and More!
