How 21st Century Has Helped You Succeed
"The IU 21st Century Scholars Program has helped to prepare me for college since eighth grade with academic and professional workshops, financial literacy classes and tips for success. Besides providing funds for my college education, the program has also helped to connect me with campus resources and academic counseling. Furthermore, the IU 21st Century Scholars Program allowed me to graduate from IU debt free, which lead me to pursue opportunities after graduation in which having student loans would have otherwise held me back."
Why IU
"I was attracted to IU's diverse campus, hundreds of resources, opportunities, and areas of study. I did not know what I wanted to study when I first graduated from high school and IU had the most opportunity to find what I really wanted to focus my undergraduate academic career on. IU also had an abundant number of opportunities for studying abroad with over 180 programs to choose from. I was able to personalize my undergraduate experience that best fit my needs, goals, and dreams for the future all while attending Indiana University Bloomington."
Words of Advice to Prospective Students
"The second you commit to IU, you are entering the trek that so many legends before you have walked. You are invited into a community of over 35,000 students that are all there for the same reason you are, to start their lives. There are people just like you out there, with values just like yours, and IU gives you so many opportunities to find them!"
Future Plans after IU
"Starting this August 2017, I will be serving as a Peace Corps Education Volunteer in the Dominican Republic, where I will be working with community schools to improve primary literacy and capacity."
