The IU 21st Century Scholars Program invites all students to attend our inaugural “Fireside Chat” scheduled THIS Friday, September 30, 2016 from 12:00PM to 1:30PM in Cedar Hall – Room C002. Professor Martin A. McCrory, Associate Vice President and Vice Provost at Indiana University Bloomington, will serve as our invited guest speaker.
During the event, Martin will share with us his academic and career path as a first generation African-American student, faculty member, and administrator at Indiana University. We invite all IU 21st Century Scholars to attend our “Fireside Chat." FREE lunch and refreshments will be provided for all IU 21st Century Scholars.

IU 21st Century Scholars Program - IU Greening Cream & Crimson
Are you interested in sustainability? The IU Greening Cream & Crimson (GCC) sponsored by the IU Office of Sustainability is focused on improving the sustainable systems within the IU Athletics Department. The IU 21st Century Scholars Office will host our next GCC this Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 3:00PM-7:00PM in Memorial Stadium (Hoosier Village). During the event, we will educate fans about recycling and composting near the tailgate entrances prior to the football game against Michigan State. IU 21st Century Scholars Program - Meet and Greet with NASA astronaut Dr. Mae Jemison
Ever wonder what it takes to become a NASA astronaut? The IU 21st Century Scholars Program will host a public talk next Thursday, October 6, 2016 for all IU 21st Century Scholars interested to meet American NASA astronaut Dr. Mae Jemison at Indiana University Bloomington. Dr. Jemison was the first African-American woman admitted into NASA’s astronaut training program and became the first African-American woman in space when the Space Shuttle Endeavour launched on September 12, 1992. "Where is Your Money Going To?" - IU Money Smarts
Have a question about budgeting? Tired of having empty pockets? Ever wonder where is your money going? The IU 21st Century Scholars Program and IU Mentoring Services and Leadership Development (MSLD) in collaboration with IU MoneySmarts will host TWO seminars for all IU 21st Century Scholars interested to learn basic planning tools and concepts for college-age financial literacy. The emphasis of these workshops will focus on financial decisions and challenges facing a typical college student. Topics include money management, budgeting, tax planning and credit, and financing higher education. All are welcomed to attend. IU FASE Mentoring Services and Leadership Development - "Classroom Secrets Untold"
Looking for some tips and tricks to succeed in the classroom? The IU 21st Scholars Program in partnership with IU Mentoring Services and Leadership Development (MSLD) will host a classroom secrets panel discussion this Wednesday, September 14th at 6:00pm-7:00pm for all IU 21st Century Scholars interested to gain inside advice and information from Professors that will help students succeed in the classroom at Indiana University. A panel of IU Professors will share secrets of classroom success and discuss the expectations they have for their students. FREE pizza will be provided. Bring your friends, all are welcome!
