March 2017 Newsletter
Welcome Back Message from Vincent E. Isom, Director of IU 21st Century Scholars Program
Welcome Back, Scholars! I hope that you performed to the best of your ability on all midterm assignments, exams, papers, and quizzes. I hope that you were able to enjoy your spring break and take advantage of at least one day not focused upon your academic responsibilities. Now that you are back and refocused upon finishing the semester out strong, I want you to take advantage of every opportunity provided to improve or maintain your academic performance. In this newsletter, we have various resources listed and have a staff available to speak with you about any challenges that you may face. Remember for every problem or obstacle that you face, there is a solution. For any success that you have, we are here to celebrate with you in appreciation of your hard work.
Also included in this newsletter are events to help you gain employment over the summer or during the upcoming semester. Please don’t forget that building your resume is just as import as your academic performance. Beyond the obvious of earning an income, you want to show dedication, skills development, and have a reference base for answering interview questions. There are a couple of positions that I would like to plug for the upcoming year. I work directly with these positions or it is with a program that provides integral support to our students. The first being an opportunity for a graduating senior to work with us in an AmeriCorps position and the second being male FASE Mentors. Please read the information included about these and other opportunities in the content below. If you have any questions about your academic development or where you are today, please feel free to contact us at iub21cs@indiana.edu. We are committed to your success at Indiana University Bloomington.
