Michael A. Jefferson II
Michael A. Jefferson II was Leadership Development Specialist (Graduate Assistant) in the IU 21st Century Scholars Program during the 2017-2018 academic year at Indiana University Bloomington. During his tenure, Michael provided student development support to both the IU 21st Century Scholars Volunteer Corps and the IU 21st Century Scholars G.I.V.E. Back Program and played an instrumental role in the creation of IU 21st Century Scholars Leadership C.O.R.E., to be launched during the 2018-2019 academic year at IUB. Prior to joining our department, Michael served as a Teach for America (TFA) corps member for two-years in rural Mississippi and have most recently worked as a Chemistry Teacher in Memphis, TN at Shelby County Schools.
Michael is currently a second-year student in the dual-degree Master of Public Affairs (MPA)-Master of Science in Environmental Science (MSES) program in the School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) at Indiana University Bloomington. He holds a B.S. degree in Environmental Science from Florida A&M University. Michael is originally from Indianapolis, IN, and is a proud alumnus of Pike High School. Michael is an active member of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Bloomington, Indiana.
